Terms and Conditions

Scope and purpose

These Terms of Use apply to your use of the education and training services and your participation in workshops and events, hereinafter jointly referred to as the “Services”, described below, provided by Uppsala Monitoring Centre (“UMC”, “us”, “we”).

By using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.

UMC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to amend these terms at any time by publishing the amendments in connection with our training offerings or otherwise. Minor amendments will not be published separately.

Our Services

UMC offers learning programmes and resources that support the safer use of medicines and vaccines. UMC offers self-paced and instructor-led online courses as well as on-site workshops, user group meetings and webinars.

Some of these Services are only available to member organisations of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring (“PIDM”).

Access to our courses

Our courses are developed for PIDM members and other organisations using UMC’s products. These user segments are prioritised for accessing our courses and UMC may, in its sole discretion, reject access for other user segments.

UMC may provide a course certificate to users from PIDM members upon completion of certain courses. Please note that UMC may, in its sole discretion, reject an application for a course certificate if the requirements for that certificate are not met. UMC may also discontinue a course and cancel any outstanding course certificates that have not yet been issued.

Your account and your information

When you create an account on our learning platform or sign up to our workshops and events, you must provide us with accurate information.

You are not allowed to share your account with others. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Unauthorised use of your account may lead to the suspension of your account.

Acceptable use

You may not use our Services in a way that is unlawful.

You may not use our Services to harass other users or otherwise share material that is inappropriate or not strictly related to the Services.

You may not use artificial intelligence (AI) robots or assistance for transcribing and recording while using our Services. This restriction is in place to ensure the effective learning and participation and to maintain respect for both instructors and your fellow students.

User content and participation

You are responsible for any content, both verbally and in writing, that you share through our Services.

You must refrain from sharing sensitive information that could directly or indirectly identify a patient or a practitioner or pose a risk of identification.

UMC reserves the right in its sole discretion to remove inappropriate content and to terminate an account associated with breaches of these terms.

Our Services and all contents therein are the intellectual property of UMC or of the creator. Please make sure to carefully read the copyright information related to each piece of material or content.

Unless otherwise specified, all use of UMC’s material related to our Services is subject to prior approval by UMC. To request permission, please contact UMC by using the contact form on our website.

Availability

We strive to provide uninterrupted access, but we may need to modify or suspend our Services at any time, including discontinuing courses and otherwise changing our Service offering. We are not liable for any consequences resulting from such actions.

Violation of the terms

A violation of these terms may result in the refusal of Services.

We reserve the right to terminate your account on our learning platform without prior notice if you violate these terms. Upon termination, you lose access to enrolled courses, and you will not be eligible for any certificate that may otherwise be offered for your course upon completion.
